Purchasable happiness

The topic of this week is a nice one because I cannot stop thinking about a situation where happiness is purchasable with money, especially when we are depressed or need happiness to tackle a goal or a problem. Happiness, as we all know, is that feeling that gladdens the heart as a result of something good happening in one’s life. It is the kind of feeling that takes over one’s heart when one passes an examination or wins an award.

Can money buy this feeling?

"Money can’t buy happiness." This is a statement that holds endless controversy because a lot of people believe the opposite. The statement is very true, but money solves a lot of problems that kill happiness in a man’s life. On the other hand, we have seen very wealthy people who have everything in life, yet happiness is lacking in their lives. If happiness were purchasable with money, they would buy it and store it in such a way that they would never have to worry about sadness again.

For me, I would not need to buy much because, as it currently stands in my life, the presence of money would sweep away everything that makes me think deeply about difficult issues sometimes. I cannot remember the last time I lost sleep over a problem that money could not solve. Nevertheless, if happiness were something that could be purchased with money, I would still buy it because I want to be happy always, and I do not want to experience anything called sadness or depression.

Maybe in a situation where I lost a loved one, I would need that happiness purchased from the market to help me stand strong and never feel the pain of losing someone dear to me. This may sound like an extreme application, but I love the idea.

I would also buy happiness and store it IG ut were possible, because just like an instance you gave, losing a loved one is one of those circumstances where one can’t escape sadness. It’ll be very applicable in such situation.
