My Web 3 Journey,From Doubt to Discovery

Before now, I used to hear about crypto and all this web 3 talk, but honestly, I didn’t take it serious. I thought it was just for people that had extra money to play around with or people looking for quick cash. In fact, I used to believe crypto was a scam, especially because of how some people will hype it and then one month later, you won’t hear anything again.

My first real introduction to Web 3 was from a friend who talked about Hive. I was just scrolling one day and he mentioned Hive as a platform where you can actually blog and earn. I was surprised. I mean, I’ve been using social media for years and never earned a kobo, so it sounded like a joke to me. But I was curious, and that curiosity pushed me to research more.That’s when I started understanding that Hive is not just any platform,it’s part of a bigger system called Web 3. That was my real introduction into Web 3. From there, I started learning about cryptocurrency, NFTs, DeFi, DApps, and all these other things that were sounding like big grammar before. I realized that Web 3 is not something you can fully understand in one day. Even till now, I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.

At the beginning, I had so many fears. I thought maybe I would waste time or data and still gain nothing. I also didn’t understand how to use wallets, keys, or even what gas fees meant. Everything looked complicated and sometimes I just wanted to give up.
But I also met people who were supportive, especially in Hive communities. Reading people’s posts and seeing their success stories gave me hope. Slowly, I started learning the terms, joined a few tasks and challenges, and I began to feel like I belong here.

One major thing that changed my mindset was when I earned my first upvotes and saw my Hive wallet. That moment made me understand that Web 3 is real. It’s not just about making money, but it’s about owning your content, building community, and having a voice that actually counts.

Right now, my favorite part of Web 3 is crypto blogging. It’s fun, it's creative, and I can express myself freely. I still want to learn more about NFTs and DeFi because I know there are big opportunities there too.
If I can say one thing to anyone who is just entering Web 3: Don’t rush it. Take your time. Learn. Ask questions. Stay consistent. You might not understand everything now, but over time, it will begin to make sense.

This space is big and full of knowledge. Every day, there’s something new, and that’s what makes it exciting.
