Everybody has their diverse definition of life. For some, its a market where we come, buy and then, we go back to where ever we came from The see life as a place for transaction where we gain experiences and exchange values, build worth and empires, and then, pass on the legacy to the next generation while we go back to the place we came from.
When the context is about life, death and immortality, everybody have something to say. Though speculations and hypothesis, some of their wordings makes sense to a certain degree but the fact still remains that - we will not know what death tastes like unless we actually witness it. Now here is the catch, we can not actually come back to tell other people what life is after death.
Come to think of it, since we don't actually know what becomes of us when we die, would it not be better for us to remain alive for eternity? What is the point of life if we will all die one day? I guess, maybe they were correct when they said that life is a place where we come, buy and exchange values, build worth and make a legacy while we prepare for the inevitable, death.
With the fear of death here and there, if there is a market for people to buy immortality, there is a high percentage that they will give anything just to be immortal and live forever - enjoying the riches and beauty the earth has to offer. Welp, if the option of immortality exists, it will be really tempting for me. My decision to buy it will be based on a wide range of factors. Factors like; can i also buy i also buy it for my family, friends and loved ones? If yes, then i "may" think about buying immortality.
Even if i can get immortality for my family, friends and loved ones, i can't help it but think about it..... Would that not mean that we are cheating nature? what's actually the point of living if we can't complete the cycle of life? Life and death are a cycle that we should naturally comply with irrespective of the fact that we are scared of the process.
I think, people tend to be well behaved, and try to do everything in their power to stack, and set the pace right for the next generation because they know that they will die, and leave life for the next generation to continue from where they stopped. Even at this time when immortality is not present, human greed has proven to be one of the major problems inhibiting the proper growth and development of many countries.
Personally, even though i can be able to buy immortality for my family friends and loved ones, I would not want to get it. I feel like i will be disrupting the process of life. There is time for everything, and when my time to die comes, I want to embrace it fully - knowing that i have gotten achievements, accomplished my dreams, explored the world and yes, give rise to children that will carry on my legacy.
I don't want to live forever and wander the earth like a sheep without shepherd. I don't want to live to the extent that i will become tired of living. I prefer to embrace the cold sensation of death and face what ever comes next.
If i take the elixir of immortality, my dreams of being buried in a field where new life (in form of plants) will sprout out of my decayed and post-maggot infested corpse will not be achieved. I will like to give my body back to nature, just like it gave me life and sustained me till the day i die.
I know it may sound weird, but yeah, death is part of the cycle and i will want to embrace it. Thats why i'm currently struggling so that - on my death bed, I will not have any regrets, and will not feel like there is something that i have not accomplished.
I have performed last office for lots of patients (i've actually lost count), and one thing i know for sure is that, these patient will want to say a proper goodbye before going but then, they cant. They have to accept their fate. Its tragic and sad to lose a loved one but then, its life. that completes their cycle, and they have to face everything they see afterwards. If i'm in that position, i would want to embrace the inevitable with a smile on my face, knowing fully well that i've accomplished majority of what i set out to do, and also, i have no regrets.
Thank you for reading.
