RE: Sam's Hangout #73- “CHOOSING A PARTNER”

Here is my opinion on today's topic of discussion.

If one is to choose a life partner, the three main qualities to consider are:
Compatibility:. You need to settle down with someone who you are compatible with not just physically but spiritually, mentally, socially and most importantly medically. I have seen an AS marry an SS with the religious beliefs that God will not give them a sickle cell child. Later on, the woman is the one at the receiving end of the pain and agony.
The second point to me is communication: There is need for effective communication in marriage. One should not settle down with a partner who is not ready or is afraid to discuss something at some point. You have to communicate really hard to the extent that you will understand the gesture or body language of your partner. You don't expect me to believe you love me if you don't say it to me and I am not God to know what you are thinking or what is going on in your mind. Hello! Communication in marriage is as important as the air we breathe.

The last thing to consider is emotional maturity you don't want to marry someone who seek counsel from all his or her family members. You need to marry someone who is mature enough to trust you even if everyone does not, someone who is not threatened by your progress, someone who will not be in an unhealthy competition with you and lastly someone who will not let you shoulder all the responsibilities at home because you earn more. No marry mama or papa wrapper ooo

To answer the second part of the question, if any of the above listed points is missing in a man, I do not think I will settle down with him because forever is too long to live in regret. More so it is better to be single and be happy than to be married and sad tell me what is marriage without trust, security and provision.

This is my take, how una see am? @beckroyal @rukie @lucia89 @tioluwani make una put mouth

You see this compatibility enh, it is very important. As should not get married to As. I know of a couple who decided to risk it, saying “God will do it.” They lost all their children.
