Overcoming setback

Hi everyone, Welcome to my blog.

Many times people embark on various activities or journeys in life and are met with obstacles that can hinder them from moving forward.

Setbacks are situations that hinder a person from reaching their goal or from reaching success, and this could be in academics, the workplace, a career, or other aspects of life.

Setbacks can be due to some natural circumstances beyond human control or based on our own human disadvantages. Oftentimes when people experience setbacks, our reaction and actions determine whether the outcome of that setback is going to be you taking charge and coming back stronger and better or you just checking out and letting the situation determine your fate.

When faced with situations in life, we can choose to take control and face such situations head-on until we are able to find a solution or just bolt. That is to say, no matter the situation, you can always win with the right attitude.

Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, said, and I quote, I have not failed; I only found 10,000 ways that will not work. He didn't allow the fact that he had not succeeded after trying for so long to stop him, but he kept at it, and he eventually was able to invent the first light bulb.

So here are a few things we can do when faced with a setback.

  1. Find out why what you're doing isn't working. There's a saying, If you want it hard enough, the universe will give it to you, so when you find out what it is you are doing that is making you not get the desired result, then you will be able to use a different approach in order to get the job done.

  2. Seek help. You never know the person who has the right answer to what you are going through. Recently, one of my friends who works with a company had some issues when he was working with his team, and then he tried to seek help from his partners and checked on the internet, but he didn't get any headway, so he left the situation for a while, not knowing what to do. Then one day he was having a conversation with his younger brother, and he mentioned it, and it turned out his brother had the solution to what he had been trying to resolve for weeks, so don't be ashamed to ask for help.

  3. Find new ways of doing the things you are doing. Never stop learning, keep up with trends, and get it done by taking action.

  4. Never underestimate anyone. I remember during my 300-level days I had a course that was difficult, and I met someone in class who was even younger than I was, and she was able to guide me, and I passed that course.

We must understand that we live in a world that is more spiritual than physical, and we actually get what we speak, so when you encounter situations, learn to speak positively and have a heart of gratitude for the things you are also doing that are going well, and it will propel you to be able to take the needed steps in order to succeed.

Thanks for stopping by.
