THE HIDDEN STRUGGLES BEHIND BIG DREAMS

As kids, we were excited about the thought of going to school, but when it was time to actually go to school and do all the school work, we start wishing otherwise. For me, that’s life for us. When we see others do something, we don’t usually see the tough part of their journey; we only or mostly notice the best parts of their journey, and we wish to be like them. If only we were curious to really know how they got to where they are today. Nothing good comes easy, as they say, and I believe that. And there is almost nothing good that comes to us that we don’t have to sacrifice something important to us to get it. It could be sacrificing that one habit that we enjoy so much or depriving ourselves of good sleep or food.

As a student, I had so many bright plans entering into the university. I told myself I will be part of the best graduating students, even though at the point of me saying that, I had my doubts. I had doubts, but I still told myself that’s what I want. For some reasons, I knew that will be almost impossible because I wasn’t a reader. I struggle to understand most times when I read on my own, and as you know, in the university, you are more likely on your own. That alone caused me to doubt my dreams of making first class. And also, I’m a direct entry student. I actually thought that would help me blend in easily, but it wasn’t as easy as I expected.

I used almost my first semester to try and settle in. It caused me greatly, and it made me almost give up on my dreams of graduating with a first class. In fact, I gave up—not until I saw my second semester results. It wasn’t still really good, but it was way better than my first semester, and that was when I got motivated again. Right now, I’m so close to forfeiting my dreams of graduating with a first class, but I still have a chance, and I plan to use it well. I will be able to achieve my dreams if I can get all A’s this session. It seems impossible—of course, that’s why it’s a dream—but I really hope to make it a reality.

And yes, I have so much work to put into this if I really want it to work out well. I will make a lot of sacrifices too. Right now, my plan is to study every day, which I haven’t been so consistent with, but I’m going to fix that because I really have the sit-up. My dream still has a good chance of becoming a reality, and I’m holding onto that one percent in a hundred. I believe that God will see me through by giving me the grace and strength to study more effectively and efficiently.

The first paragraph serves as another reminder for me, not to compare my level 5 to someone's level 20. Because that's what we see a lot in our world today. 🥹

I have similar story to how joining the university as a direct entry student made me clueless for a while and reflected on a few courses I took.

Well, I pray you have all the energy and motivation to actualize your dream. It's not too late until it's too late. 🤲

That’s just it o. I just have to work towards it now before it’s too late.

Getting all subjects As is almost impossible to achieve because there are some lecturers that make things difficult and there are some lecturers also that won't give you A except you grease their palm

Luckily for me, my department is not like that. If you study well and answer well, you will get your grades.

Thank you for stopping by.

I can very well relate with this...
But then, it is still achievable, you just need to give it what it takes, be focused and determined...and I pray God will see you through.

Rooting for ya, always ✌️
