September is approaching, along with the start of the new academic year. August passed faster than a shooting star, and I cannot stop thinking: there are only two years left to finish university life.

Hello everyone in this beautiful community, my name is Carlos Ever and I am a 5th-year medical student at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba.
With less than two weeks to go before the new semester begins, the thoughts of any student are swirling around in my head, I suppose. Stress is approaching, nights of interrupted sleep due to long hours of study, last-minute exams, marked dark circles under the eyes, battling public transport, eating at odd hours, and the dramas of a bad day where we say: I'm going to quit, I can't take it anymore!

Hola a todos en esta hermosa comunidad, mi nombre es Carlos Ever y soy estudiante de 5to año de medicina en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Santiago de Cuba.
A menos de dos semanas de comenzar el nuevo semestre me rondan los pensamientos de cualquier estudiante, supongo. Se acerca el estrés, las noches de sueño interrumpido por prolongadas horas de estudio, los exámenes de última hora, las ojeras marcadas, batallar con el transporte público, las comidas a deshoras, los dramas de un mal día dónde decimos: lo voy a dejar ¡ya no puedo más!

However, one idea amidst so much anxiety has changed my perspective: there are only two years left for me to graduate. Two years to share with my classmates before life takes us down different paths. Two years of midnight laughs, a bitter coffee that I don't like, and a bad joke to keep us awake. To go out partying the day before an exam and learn everything at the last minute because better late than never! To teach the ones coming up behind us how to sneak into the dining hall twice, or how to enjoy a party without getting disconnected from studying.

Sin embargo una idea entre tanta ansiedad me ha cambiado la perspectiva: quedan solo dos años para graduarme. Dos años para compartir con mis compañeros antes que la vida nos lleve por caminos diferentes. Dos años de risas a media noche, un café amargo que no me gusta y un mal chiste para mantenernos despiertos. Para salir de fiesta el día antes de un examen y aprenderlo todo a última hora porque más vale tarde que nunca! Enseñar a los que vienen detrás cómo colarse en el comedor dos veces, o cómo disfrutar una fiesta sin desligarse del estudio.

Sleeping with one eye closed and the other open during on-call shifts because you never know when an emergency will happen. The days are coming when we arrive late and the professor won't let us into the ward, but the next day you have two more patients for having missed out, hahaha.
The days of pressure are approaching, my friends! Days where your tutor demands three times more from you than from the rest of the students because if you are their student assistant you must set an example.

A dormir con un ojo cerrado y el otro abierto en las guardias porque nunca se sabe cuándo habrá una urgencia. Vienen los días donde llegamos tarde y el profe no nos deja entrar a la sala pero al otro día tienes dos pacientes más por haber faltado jajaja.
Se acercan los días de presión mis amigos! Días donde el tutor te exije tres veces más que al resto de los alumnos porque si eres su alumno ayudante debes dar el ejemplo.

These are two years to create the best memories of a stage of life that only happens once. One that I know I'm going to miss. And even though yes, I need more vacations, my people 🤣🤣🤣, I'm still getting ready for what's coming!! Greetings to everyone near and far, and may Papa God bless you ❤️‍🩹.

Pero¿saben algo? Bajo presión es cuando explotamos todo nuestro potencial!
Son dos años para crear los mejores recuerdos de una etapa que no se vive dos veces. Qué sé que voy a extrañar. Y aunque sí, necesito más vacaciones mi gente🤣🤣🤣, aún así ya m voy preparando para lo que viene!! Un saludo a todos a la distancia y Papá Dios les bendiga❤️‍🩹.
