LIFE BLESSINGS: Celebrating my father’s birthday and my grandmother’s adavance birthday celebration

Good day, hivers! It has been a really long time since I posted a blog and honestly I kind of missed it so here I am again, ready to share another memorable event in my life.

Ever since school year started, life became so busy for us students and without even realizing it, we are halfway through the year, which is an accomplishment for me and my family. This July, two of the important persons of my life will be celebrating their birthdays.
Life is full fleeting moments, but every now and then, we got to pause and savor the ones that truly matter to us. This past weekend, was one of those rare and beautiful moments because two celebrations came together in heartfelt and exciting way, my father’s birthday and an advance birthday celebration for my beloved grandmother.

THE DAY BEFORE (Exciting preparation)

Through efforts, we can make someone we feel the love we have for them. Before their big day, we poured our best in preparing the best birthday set-up for them. We decorated this little corner in our home with so much love. 

First, we covered the wall with white curtains to make the background more pleasant in the visitor’s eyes. Second, we put the gold foil something that we bought in the nearby wholemart here in our place. Next, we put the HAPPY BIRTHDAY design to the front of the gold foil. Lastly, we blow some balloons to finalize the decoration. It was the exhausting yet satisfying work I have in the whole week.

THE BIG DAY

The morning was full of heartfelt greetings and sweet messages to the celebrants before the real preparation truly begins. Before the visitors could come, of course we pour a lot of time to make the foods. My family insisted that foods should be cooked with our bare hands so that we can make it even more memorable.

We cooked lumpiang shanghai, fried chicken, tinibuok nga manok (I don’t know how do we call it in english but it was a kind of chicken dish), pancit, paklay, and two more kinds of chicken dish. We also bought two cakes from goldilocks and prepared watermelon.

When the visitors came, I couldn’t manage to take pictures as I was busy entertaining them and it was truly amazing. We sang happy birthday song to the celebrant to creatively greet them as they blow their candles. Within just a short period of time, we were able to make it enjoyable while eating the food with blessings.

This celebration was more than just cakes, candles and photos, it was a reminder of how precious time is. A reminder to honor the people who shaped us and cherish the moments that become their tomorrows. As the sunset drew close, I felt my heart brim with joy with the presence of the people who I treasured the most. Birthday are true life blessings and truly, the day ended with birthdays well spent.
