I found gold on the beach!

Hello Hello to all Hivians, Hivers and indeed any bird lovers that are reading this.

Some of my favourite posts to write on Hive are the feathered friends posts, especially as the rewards go to buying their food in the park.

I have a feeling it may be on the up in the future. We are moving flats in a few weeks to one that has a big tree in the back garden which I intend hanging some bird accessories to it. Let's see if I can get a snap or two!

I had some business up in Aberdeen last week, and whilst there I visited some of my old haunts as I used to live there on and off for many years.

One such place was the beach

image.png

I was drawn to an oystercatcher that I will show next week! in the meantime I turned round as something flew past my shoulder and landed on the concrete...

Can you see it?

image.png

See the Gold?

image.png

hehe ok so maybe not the precious metal 🀣, but it is a precious goldfinch which you don't to see on the beach, or at least I don't down in Fife!

image.png

I managed to zoom in a wee bit closer with my phone.

image.png

Luckily he seemed to pose showing off his gold!

image.png

This bird is a European goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis),

This post though, is an entry for this week's Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 280 hosted by the wonderful @nelinoeva in the fantastically fun Feathered Friends community on Hive

And I shall pick this one for the entry

Well what can I say, there were only really two contenders this week, and this one wins it as it is the whole birdy. The other contender you might remember had a wee bit of the tail chopped off lol!

What do you think? Was that your favourite, or don't you give a fluff?

Hehe thanks luchyl, it was a great sight on the beach!
How are you doing?

0E-8 BEE

I can imagine. πŸ˜‚
Not doing so good, Tengo. Have been under the weather for a couple of days now plus the stress of the house hunting. 😩

0E-8 BEE

Beautifulllll and that bright color in his wings are really noticeable. Such a handsome birdie. UwU

0E-8 BEE

The bright colour on his wings make him pop! Handome indeed Ruffa :)

How beautiful!! I love yellow, so I adore this bird. I hope the move goes smoothly and that the house is welcoming for birds and other treasures. Hugs from a little yellow bird.

0E-8 BEE

Hehe I know you love yellow and it is such a happy and colourful colour. Well the move is going jeje, I am doing it little by little. Guess how far away the new house is? In the meantime the little doves should be hugged for that little yellow bird :)

Beautiful bird. Funny how you caught it out the corner of your eye. You might have missed the pretty thing.

Miss the tree that used to be outside my window. We had all kinds of birds and critters around it. Loved watching them. Had to cut it down though becuase it was rotting. Now no more critters and birds to watch from my chair. So now I get of my big ass and go out back to watch them. :)

It was a gorgeous wee bird.
Ah there is usually a blessing in disguise when something happens. lol so now you actually have to get up and go get some fresh air to see them!

Happy Sunday Joe

For sure. Little cold beer on the back patio watching the birds, bees, squirrels and chipmunks. It's nice still.

My pleasure and thank you

0E-8 BEE

What a beautiful bird you found there.

0E-8 BEE

You are so very correct

Greetings, happy hunting. It is better to see the birds like that, in the wild.

0E-8 BEE

Yes that was as wild as you can get

Goldfinches are lovely birds with sweet songs. I wonder what this little one is doing on the beach.πŸ™‚
Well spotted!

0E-8 BEE

They do have gorgeous wee songs. Yeah he caught me by surprise being there!

0E-8 BEE

Such a cute bird. It was alone? Mostly they come in pair. Or maybe this one is still singleπŸ˜ŒπŸ˜›.

0E-8 BEE

Hehe cute pretty and single! lol I nearly said something πŸ˜‹

0E-8 BEE

Nice capture!

I wonder how it got so close to the beach... aren't they usually seen in gardens and woods?

0E-8 BEE

Yes I was a bit taken aback seeing it on the beach, the city has plenty of gardens and woods but they are more the other side of the city if that makes any sense lol!

0E-8 BEE

Definitely a lot more interesting than the gold finches we have in our neck of the woods!

0E-8 BEE

lol yeah it was interesting

0.00916746 BEE

I rarely see goldfinches in our area.

0E-8 BEE

They are pretty wee things, that is a shame. That is the beauty of Hive though, seeing birds that we don't see!
