Eyeing up the Prize

Hello Hello to all Hivians and indeed anyone reading this.

Some of my favourite posts to write on Hive are the feathered friends posts, especially as the rewards go to buying their food in the park.

The pictures in this post were all taken on August 17th 2025. A day I know well as it was my birthday lol! Some of these pictures were used to make the lead image for this post on Canva by the author.

Birds of the Park or in this case birds of the pond!

Swans...

image.png

No you numpty not those ones...

Ok okay you mean these ones ....

image.png

Yeah, but they are fluffing miles away, they don't look very big from here.. Remember @nelinoeva said big bird!

Okay let's walk around to that side of the pond...

image.png

This year we had four babies who are growing up fast as you can see!

image.png

Mum was still keeping an eye on them though...

image.png

Dad meanwhile as in full preen mode!

King of the Pond

Molly and Martha Mallard were following the crowd...

Dad just needs a wee bit more preening

Eyeing up the bag of food

This couple are good and actually feed them proper food. The ones feeding them bread, I do have a wee word at...

image.png

I like that one as it shows how big mute swans are...

image.png

This post though, is an entry for this week's Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 235 hosted by the wonderful @nelinoeva in the fantastic Feathered Friends community on Hive.

And I shall pick this one for the entry

Eyeing up the Prize
That was a tricky choice to make and a process of elimination.

I keep changing my mind lol!

Here is big Dad and his fluffing big feet!

What do you think? Was that your favourite?

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!

The swans are doing well and the babies are so big indeed.
Ah, how clever they are. Spotting the food bag - an awesome shot. πŸ™‚

hehe yeah they have good vision. Whenever I go there now some of the birds come zooming over the water, especially some of the female mallards.
That was a fun prompt this one!

Those birds sure aren't dumb, they see the food bag a sucker the moment they see it. You got some great bird pictures, and a couple boats too! lol

Birds are always fun to watch, and the geese like to be the big bullies as always. They will chase you away unless you feeding them, then they become your very best friends. Funny how that works?

Great job, I love your bird posts, they're always a lot of fun!

They are smart fluffers and often we can learn from them. He saw the guy with bird food on the left of the ice cream van picture, and watched him as he walked and then fed them all.

They are fun to watch and during Covid were a real blessing. These are my fun posts where I try to make some stories with the pictures, so I do love the fact that you think they are fun!

How they've grown! And time flies. It's been almost a month since your birthday. I'm sure you bought ice cream that day. I hope the weather allows for more pleasant outings like this one. A hug from photography. πŸ«‚πŸ“Έ

Yes almost a month ago and I did get an ice cream. Well the weather has turned so it will be wrapping up in a coat if the sun ever comes back lol

Good choice. I also like the one that mum is keeping an eye on them. Btw they look like mum. Nothing in dads genesπŸ˜›πŸ˜.

Hello dear friend @tengolotodo, how are you?

What a lovely way to spend a birthday, surrounded by feathered friends.

These birds are adorable, and they seem to enjoy being around people.

Beautiful shots.

Have a great day.
