One of my favourite days because it means a post on Hive will be written by me, and I get to hear other music that Hivers and Hiveians enjoy. Well for the select band that participate in ttt anyway!
And today will be a wee bit different!

We are going back to my Silver Chronicles post of a few weeks ago My Soundtrack for the 80s my favourite decade
Quite a self-explanatory title and it is my inspiration for the next few posts on ttt!
The year is now 1983 and this was the first entry for that year ...
π½ Local Hero β The ultimate "feel-good" Scottish film, filmed in Pennan and Morar. The village of Pennan and the red telephone box drew visitors from all over. I took Mrs T a couple of times there and it was like some of the fishing villages in the East Neuk that I like!
Yes it's a fluffing film and we are having three tunes from the soundtrack!
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 265 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Sunshine Mix for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 266 - win some HBI
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
He has just released some winners posts, so go support those posts, he gets no support from any whales or even curation trails for these posts that he does. 262 weeks is an incredible amount of time, and I for one love that he runs this, and I appreciate the time and dedication that he puts in, when he could be doing something else.

For this weekβs ttt, we are merging Glasgow, Newcastle and the North East of Scotland all through Knopfler.
The guy is a guitar legend a genius. Did you know he does not use a pick, he is left handed by plays the strings with his right hand. He is so unmistakable.
Not only is he the front man for Dire Straits he has scored some fluffing awesome films such as Local Hero.
He was born in Glasgow but moved to Newcastle when he was 7...
If you look at my lead image, those are the bridges over the river Tyne in Newcastle and yes I transplanted a red telephone box onto it, as anyone you watched the film will remember...
The last song is the real Newcastle connection as it is the anthem for The Magpies the wonderful Toon Army or Newcastle United!
Here are three incredible tunes Knopfler gave us in that unforgettable filmscore for Local Hero in 1983.

The acoustic, finger-picked soul of the entire film. It perfectly captures the tranquil, atmospheric beauty of the fictional village of Ferness and sets the emotional tone for the whole story.

This is the only major vocal track on the album and features a guest appearance...
Did you guee who? Kudos if you did, but it is another Scottish legend in Gerry Rafferty.

The ultimate soaring finale driven by Michael Brecker's legendary saxophone work.
This is one of Knopfler's most famous pieces of music and instantly recognisable.
This is the anthem I was talking about earlier and for decades, the players have run out onto the pitch at St James' Park to that very song in front of 50,000 roaring fans. I have seen and heard it live and it is right up there, but not as good as Tina Turner Simply The Best and Rangers running out at Ibrox!

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes πΆπ΅πΆ
The images and ramblings are from me, with some assistance from gemini on the verbage and the lead image, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated.
