How are you doing? Spring is here, although lately it has been 0 and 1 degree in the morning, colder than most winter mornings!
This weekend sees the Links Market return for its annual trip, I should post about it. I think it is Europe's oldest longest street fair, been an annual event since the 1500s if I remember correctly!

You can see the big wheel can't carry passengers yet, the buckets aren't installed. This is them setting up and I think it kicks off tomorrow.
Plenty of music to be heard there ...
But it is to the music here we go ...
We are going back to my Silver Chronicles post of a few weeks ago My Soundtrack for the 80s my favourite decade
Quite a self-explanatory title and it is my inspiration for the next few posts on ttt!
The year is now 1981 and we are diving into the flamboyant "Antmusic" of Adam and the Ants during their peak year of 1981...
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
@ablaze started #ttt 255 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Ireland's Top 30 Songs of all Time (22,23,24) for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 254 - win some HBI
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
He has just released some winners posts, so go support those posts, he gets no support from any whales or even curation trails for these posts that he does. 251 weeks is an incredible amount of time, and I for one love that he runs this, and I appreciate the time and dedication that he puts in, when he could be doing something else.

After the original Ants were poached by Malcolm McLaren to form Bow Wow Wow (I loved theor lead singer hehe!), Adam Ant teamed up with Marco Pirroni to create a completely new sound. 1981 was the year "Antmania" truly took over the UK. Their look was a mix of pirate, Native American, and Regency dandy, but the music was driven by the "Burundi" beat—a thunderous, tribal double-drumming style that sounded like nothing else on the radio.
All three of these tunes were released in 1981

Released in May 1981, this was the song that truly cemented Adam Ant as a pop icon.
It spent five weeks at Number 1 in the UK. The song plays on the "Dandy Highwayman" theme, featuring the famous "your money or your life" catchphrase. It’s a masterclass in 80s production ... all those yelps, the horns, and that driving dual-drum beat.

The title track of their 1981 album, this song reached Number 1 in September of that year. It was less of a rock song and more of a rhythmic chant about self-belief and non-conformity.
The famous line "Ridicule is nothing to be scared of" became a mantra for the New Romantic movement.
This was a favourite of my father, because .... The video was also famous for featuring 1950s film star Diana Dors as the Fairy Godmother.
We can have crushes no what our ages were lol!

Closing out the year in December 1981, this track was a bold move into the emerging rap genre, albeit done in the classic "Antmusic" style.
I never got the whole rap thing. And this is about the best of rap you could get haha!!!
It featured Adam literally rapping his own name and lists of his accomplishments over a heavy, stomping beat. It’s a fun, theatrical end to a year where the band could seemingly do no wrong on the charts.

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

I only know Goody Two Shoes. That was them right?
Ah yes it was, released in 1982.
Awesome music, I have always loved that album. One of my favorites. I love the two drummer beats and original sound that he created. Such a shame there aren't artists around like Adam Ant, he made some great music in his early years! What a great TTT!
!PIMP
Yeah I am loving doing this 80s series, and I guess a sign of the times that music today is not really full of characters or artists that make great music to our ears anyway lol!
You just used a word that came to my mind from the first video: theatrical. I had never heard of this group, but without a doubt they must have had very theatrical and dramatic performances. A nice Tuesday and congratulations because we won in soccer. Hugs for you 🌞
