Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

The Band - Blondie

They are one of my favourite bands of all time, and I never tire of listening to them. In fact I really should do some more ttt posts on them!

Blondie were founded in New York City in 1974 by the iconic Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. They were pioneers of the American new wave and punk scenes. They umpteen albums and I had a big crush on her!

Perfect UPbeat tunes for the fluffing rainy weather we are having!

Tune 1 - Blondie - Call Me

Released in February 1980 Call Me was the main theme for the film American Gigolo. It was a massive collaboration with Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder, with lyrics penned by Debbie Harry.

Fun Fact: Moroder originally asked Stevie Nicks to help with the song, but she declined, paving the way for Blondie to create their biggest-selling single.

I chose this version ... a live performance of "Call Me" from Blondie's show at YouTube Presents on October 10th 2012 some 32 years after it was released.

Tune 2 - Blondie - Atomic

Atomic appeared on the 1979 album Eat to the Beat, but was released as a single in February 1980, which is why I included it in 1980 in my chronicle. It is a high-energy fusion of new wave, disco, and even surf-rock guitars.

It became the band's third No. 1 hit in the UK, holding the top spot for two weeks in March.

Fun Fact: The original album version features an intro inspired by the nursery rhyme "Three Blind Mice".

Tune 3 - Blondie - The Tide Is High

All together now ....

The tide is high, but I'm holdin' on
I'm gonna be your number one
I'm not the kind-a girl who gives up just like that, oh no

We finish by jumping to the end of 1980. This cover of The Paragons' reggae classic was released in October as the lead single from their fifth album, Autoamerican.

I do love my reggae, so this will be a Bonus tune!

Tune 3 - The Paragons - The Tide Is High

So there you have it 3 songs from Blondie and a reggae classic from The Paragons this week with my 80s Soundtrack post as the inspiration!

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Note: The 4 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎢🎡🎢

Thanks for visiting!

Absolutely brilliant selections Ed! I love them all! Blondie is such an iconic band and you can't go wrong with any of their songs. I love the original "The Tide is High" by The Paragons, what a great reggae tune. So much awesome stuff in one post my friend!

How's the weather treating you for this Valentine's Day? Cold and rainy or some nice sunshine?

Could write a fair few ttt posts on Blondie, so will add to the list lol! The Paragons are great and I thought it would be fun to pop in a reggae tune into the mix!
The weather haha after a nice weekend with sun and a high of 9C it is rapidly running downhill to a temp of allegedly 1C and it has been wet and windy.
So Valentine's Day could be a wet one!

I've already got my listening slated for tomorrow, but now I need to add some Blondie to the mix. I really only know the big hits.
