The only photo I have of my first car, a 1976 Toyota Celica. I do not real think I had much idea of what I wanted when I got this car. I had been working since I hit the legal age. From memory it was 14 at the time in Victoria. So I had been working part time and saving for the sole purpose of getting a car and freedom.
I got it before even having my licence and had to take my cousin with me to pick it up. She said I would love it because it drove like a sports car, I think I liked it more because it looked fast. It was good, it got me around but it had limitations being a small coupe.
Most of my friends were getting what ever car was available from a friends or family I was lucky enough to be able to choose but I was struggling to known what I actually wanted. It was not long before I sold it and got a big HX Holden panel van the total opposite of the Celica.
The Panel Van did not last long either before I sold it and got my dads old Toyota Corona station wagon which was probably the uncoolest of the 3 but I kept it for longer as it was much more practical with four seats and still a bit of room to carry stuff.
I thing I would apricate the old Celica now more if I could get one, rather than when I actually had it.
A diecast model of my first car might be a good memento but this one was the hatch back model, mine was more rounded down at the back with a small boot.
Ha I can see you driving that! It'd definitely be cool now in that green. I had a Holden Panelvan too! Not for long, drove it back from WA.
The old Nullarbor road trip, i would !LUV to that again

Cool first ride.
My first ride was a black Toyota Corola. Small sporty style.
I loved that thing.
But honestly i probs would have loved anything that started or even rolled π€£
I drove a yellow toyota corolla wagon around Australia in the 90s. It struggled to over take the long road trains but it was efficient on the fuel and very reliable.
Yeah, canβt beat the gas efficiency of the corola! And in my case, it just never broke down, just ran and ran for years. And I was young and dumb and not driving carefully π€£
Looks like you've been 'documenting' stuff for a long time ;) !LOL !HUG
