I just checked so I dont spread misinformation like MSM is always saying I do...
Aachen was founded by the Romans and after that the Franks ruled it, The Franks are considered one of the big German Royal families. It has also been the place where the German King was crowned for 600 years.
There ones was a dutchman who besieged and captured the city, that impressed us so much we made him King of Germany. But Aachen was never considered dutch and it does not even have the double A in its dutch name "Aken"
