What to watch, what to watch: Wildcard Weekend

Well, it's official. As of last night, Penn State is out of the national football championship running. It's another tough loss for a team that has been through it's share of adversity over the past decade and a half or so. With the Sandusky scandal in the history books, Penn State has been building back a really good program over the years. Unfortunately, they are still struggling to get those big wins when they need them. Most specifically over top five teams.

With a late game field go to push them ahead 27 to 24, Notre Dame moves on to the college football finals. Tonight Texas and Ohio State play to see how will be facing them in the championship game. If they can play the same way they did last weekend, I think OSU has it in the bag. Texas almost lost to Arizona State. In fact, rumor has it ASU has hired a lawyer and they are suing because they feel a crucial call was missed that could have won them the game.

In addition to that game tonight, we also have NFL wild card games happening this weekend. Saturday gives us the Chargers versus the Texans and Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore. Sunday has Denver facing Buffalo, Green Bay at Philadelphia, and Washington at Tampa Bay.

Finally, on Monday we have Minnesota at the Rams.

First off, how the heck did Buffalo become a wild card team? It's just crazy to me that good teams like Minnesota and Buffalo are wild card teams.

I'm not going to tell you which game to watch, they should all be pretty good (or not, who knows).

As far as basketball is concerned, there is a ton of that on this weekend as well. Tonight my niece is back in action against one of their neighboring rivals. It's a crap shoot whether or not @mrsbozz and I will be able to stream the game.

Saturday there are a ton of NCAA games on as well as Sunday. At noon on Sunday the Michigan State Spartans are back in action against Northwestern. You better believe I will be rushing home from church to catch that game!

Northwestern has always been a bit of a thorn in the side for MSU, so hopefully we can buck that trend this year.

Really, you can't go wrong this weekend. Just find a game and watch it. Throw in some snacks and a beer or two.... *chef's kiss
