Here we go again, a new generation of Nvidia graphics cards!
Whats new?
The new graphics cards are featuring:
- DLSS 3.0
- 3rd Generation RT Cores
- 4th Generation Tensor Cores
- up to 2x the performance of the Predecessors
The graphics cards will be for sale sometime in November! (src: nvidia)
Criticism
Many are concerned about the price of the new cards since they got even more expensive this time. A good example is the 12GB variant of the RTX 4080 at 899$ in comparison to the RTX 3080 at 699$ launching price.
Many of you know that the RTX 3080 still isn't available for 699$ because of its availability and we don't even want to know how much the RTX 4000s prices will skyrocket. My prediction is, that it won't be available for 3 months after launch and then maybe for about 500$+ the launching price.
Another point will be the massive size of the 4090s but we still don't have reference designs so that may change in the future.
Conclusion - Should you buy?
If you have the money and you're not buying it extremely overpiced? Absolutely. But if you don't I wouldn't buy a 4080/4090 now and rather go for a cheaper 30-series graphics card instead.
