Welcome to the 50's and Happy Birthday! I too may be more mature but I am much more cynical that I ever was when I was younger. I think it comes with age and life experience, and driving it away isn't as easy as it used to be.

The Sparks aren't all that great, all cosmetic stuff which I've never really been into all that much anyway. But it's free so why not?
I hope you drank some nice 50 year old booze to celebrate the birthday, I wish it were economically feasible these days. But 50 year old Scotch or Cognac are both outlandishly expensive. Even 25 year old Scotch runs around $2,500, great for special occasions but it is really expensive!
I think the hard part for 50 for me was realizing that most of the years were now behind me, and the ones left were getting shorter and shorter. Funny how life can seem to drag by at times but in reality it's more like a supersonic jet... Here's to one decade more!
