RE: Goodbye, My Friend

(edited)

A familiar internet-soulmate dynamic... most of us been there... some of us done that...

But, it's all about finding balance - eventually you calibrate your life and find the sweet spot between being wild and safe.

Yet, there are also those, who for one reason or another, can never find that balance. They are great people, extraordinary creative and passionate, but they live on the edge, and are willing to jump over it if they can pull you with them.

I actually thought that this story was going to have a much more tragic ending, but I'm happy to know that it ended with a bitter but necessary 'goodbye'.

I have been there ... too many times than I care to admit.

I've had a wild life, one that has lacked boundaries and control.

Thankfully I've had a wife that stood by me as she waited on me catching up to her. My bread is fully layered on one side and I'd never jeopardize that ever.

Saying goodbye was necessary.

The old me would have clung onto the old -- even just as a friend because that's all she was to me, alas doing so would hurt her, and probably me too.

Sometimes we can hang onto the memories, but not the people.

Life sucks, alas, it's good to know who the good people in your life are :)
