RE: Good features of Open Source projects

My problem with open source is that I am giving my time, effort, and work away for virtually nothing, so there is nothing wrong with offering a paid model as well so that you end up being compensated for that time and effort. Now if I say were funded by something like the DHF or some other source of public funding, well, I would open source things like the Wordpress plugins I am working on. But I am not, so I am putting them up for sale on the Hivelist Store.

Open source does not necessarily mean that development is free. There are some open source tools and software that are well paid by sponsors. So paid or unpaid is different from whether it is open source or not.

Yeah, you are right, I guess I have never found those sponsors, lol. Everything I have built over the years has been on my own dime.
