That's a sound strategy - I follow almost the same one :-D I usually upgrade by leagues, since I just started playing a Gold Fray in my Guild, as another Silver Level player joined and I took the challenge. Worked out well so far :-)
But in general, I also upgrade the cheapest cards with the highest ratings as much as possible.

Best of luck for your Splinterlands journey. These are the best way to cope with your journey, if you are not playing the wild version, you can also omit 1/2 splinters for making others the best, which I am thinking about. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a nice day!
I usually play wild, and yeah, I could do that, but I like to be able to do good matches with every splinter :-) I do have favorites, of course, but still... I definitely need to up my game with Death splinter, not my best, same goes for Nature. I love Dragon as well, and in combination with water or life. A nice day to you, too!
