Fish and chips look good. I’m by no means in bad shape money wise. But pretty much all of my friends make significantly more money than me. If they don’t, the way they all live is not sustainable!!!! But, I’ve owned my own business for over 30 years, I’ve made hundreds of clients very happy with my work, unless I’m on an actual job site I work from home with no log in requirements. I can work whenever I want to, no restrictions.
Most people don’t know how to budget at all. It’s a foreign entity now.
My mom has a bunch of friends that work part time because they can’t survive on social security and whatever other income they have. All of them are over 70. I know one works at the dollar store cashiering, another works as a crossing guard. The rest i don’t know what they do. It’s rough out there.
That does sound rough. I hope it I am ever in that position it's because I want to be not because I have to be. It's interesting when you have friends that make more than you because they tend to have more expensive hobbies too and if you can't hang, you are left on the outside looking in.
