I think it just has to do with people not being taught how to budget these days. Back in the day they used to have classes for stuff like that, but not it has to all be aligned to state standards for testing and a lot of the common sense stuff is falling to the side. If their parents don't teach it to them and TikTok doesn't teach it to them, they are never going to learn.
