I don't really see strikes as a bad idea given that its for a good purpose. Just like in your country, the same thing is happening over here. Corruption is the order of the day. Going on strike solve a lot of things yaknow.
This month made it the fourth month we've been working without pay. Last week, grapevine info got to our higher up that we're planning a protest. Guess what, they called us for a meeting and released part of our money today.

Boy, it's tough, four months without pay is surreal. It's a good thing that in your case talking about a strike and stoppage worked, so your superiors had to give in part.
