Basic Education is almost free here In India also if you are ready to send your kids in Government school but the condition of schools is not good.

I can imagine, it's similar here too, there are a lot of public schools, but the teaching isn't the best, so the student has to try to learn as well, to chase after things, otherwise it complicates their learning a lot.
