RE: [ENG/DEU] How to Write & Create Quality Posts on Hive + Checklist

I still don't understand why Hivians are so obsessed with length. I'm primarily a photographer, so my posts are primarily photos. I try to add descriptions and talk about the experience of shooting the photos but at the end of the day a picture should speak for itself if it's a good one. I understand not voting for a single photo wordless post (this isn't Instagram) but to expect a minimum of 300 words like some people on here? Ridiculous!

Thank you very much for your enhancing comment! Very good! I understand your point. With photos I see it a different case. Does a picture need words? But I assume

A) There are real photos with some meaning, some sense behind, something special; a well thought frame, a well thought motive, color grading, maybe a filter or effect. Something like "this is the one shot/selection from my 50 or 100 shots I did this day".

B) And there are some users which post 6 photos a day, Quick shots from the phone with a dirty lense and meaningless content to participate in every beginner contest they can find. So I see this difference.

Some real photographers I vote too, but only when I can see the intention of the publisher to deliver his best shot and he does care about his work - and in this case it doesn't matter for me if it was made with DLSR or smartphone. But in my view it does matter if some dudes do quick snaps of everything they see to participate in every possible contest and use these "photos" as cheap possibility to receive the vote bots.

I assume the public meaning is like you said, because of these guys.

But anyways, I welcome a few words, too. Maybe about the cam, the objective, the place, the hike, the effort, something like this. And why not with a background story - I mean something like this is nice. But I agree that a photo has it's own value, not comparable with words or something where words are needed maybe.

I understand your point - I know this 300 words rule from some communities. It should be subjective from case to case and not a fixed rule maybe.
