Many times, acts of self defense can be judged by the law as not a crime but the tricky part is to prove that it is a self defense.

Exactly, but I think this would be a crime that we should always look at calmly, because if you kill someone, but in the process you're protecting someone else who started the attack, I think it's fine to have like a pardon or something, but of course each case is different.
