Well I didn't pay in my entire life for even that filmy branded plastic bag.
Hmm our country only has 4.5-5.6% of trees. If we start cutting them down for paper bags then that 4% will become 0.4%. We need to follow Japan scheme where grow different trees. I think Cotton bags are good like they can be reuse & recycle easily. In south India, people are doing this like they buy 2-3 cotton bags and used them for like 3-6 years. They can easily be recycled.
Your article reminded me of one thing, previously Islamabad authorities have restricted every shopkeeper to not give plastic bag. Some shopkeepers give things in hand đ
, some sold paper & third class cotton bags at triple price. I think our government should teach public to use Tote bag. Tots bag can run for years/ mad up of cotton and can easily recycled.

Exactly! Thatâs why I mentioned the old habits of our elders in the article. The goal shouldnât be to simply replace every plastic bag with a paper bag and create another problem. A durable cotton or cloth bag that we keep using for years makes much more sense.
And that Islamabad example made me laugh xD
Some shopkeepers giving things directly into your hands while others selling paper or âthird classâ cotton bags at triple price. Maybe the real change starts when carrying your own bag becomes so normal that nobody even asks for one anymore.
This plan can be successful if government take action.
