Unfortunately I think in the Altcoin world, speculators are always going to be drawn to the newest, shiniest thing because the only way to really make money is to get in before the crowd and get out before the crowd does - so I worry that Hive will trend downwards purely because it's not new.

I'm in this weird position with my Splinterlands Gladiators because I've maxed out all the cards except 3 of the legendaries... so I guess I keep going... but if rumors of a new Gladiator card set start to crop up, I might start saving the merits instead...

Yeah, that seems to be the case with altcoins. Hopefully though HIVE has been so fringe for so long that it is still new to a lot of people. Kind of how people thought Paul Mcartney was new after he did that song with Kanye or whatever. That is impressive that you have so many Gladiator cards maxed out. I must be slacking!

I do think altcoin speculators are looking for new new as opposed to 'new to them' - they want to truly be the literal early investors.
Ah, truly, I think Gladiator progress is more about your Guild than literally anything else.
