RE: Close, but not quite

Nice finds on the songs! All some very good tunes to enjoy! I see why you passed on Route 66 as so many people have redone the song over the years. Heading out west there are some places that are must sees, mostly southern Utah and northern Arizona. New Mexico has some nice sites as well, but not nearly as pretty as the other two. I've lived in all three states at one point or another... The Rio Grande is pretty much a disappointment, most of the year it's dry in New Mexico as water goes to irrigation or diverted into reservoirs. But in the 1800's it would flood up to a mile wide! Not quite the Mississippi, but might have been close...

I hope you get to make the trip out west, there's lots to see! Make sure you don't miss Moab, Utah, it's a beautiful place!
