Some of the foods would have been safe for consumption but the method of preservation is what makes the food unhealthy for man. Imagine using a insecticide as strong as sniper to preserve beans and yams...very dangerous method.
Mixed cropping was one sure method of preventing pest infestation but patience is not an attribute considered by some manufacturers and producers.
Indeed, the mode of preservation is the problem most of the time. And instead it f selling it off at a fair price, they still want to get their gain and more.
Patience is a virtue and not everyone possess that virtue.
