The bro community was not one I would post in, because I'm not a bro. Is the pub a more open community?
As for pub food: I much prefer the pub atmosphere to a formal restaurant. I like casual. My husband and I used to go to Vegas regularly (we married there) and we always looked for openings on the counter, if there was one. No waiter/waitress hovering. Just sit down and eat. Palace Station used to have a nice counter, with good overall atmosphere.

The Bro community actually opened up shortly after it was launched. It started as one thing but quickly turned into something else. That as part of the reason they dropped the whole mancave theme. The Pub is definitely more open. My wife and I did that in Vegas the last time we were there. I can't even remember the name of the place and I would be shocked if it was even still around the way things turn over out there.
