I don't even know how I accomplished that massive screw up!

I see many people in US, do this kind of extensive carpentry on their own, as a DIY project, but we don't even dare to do that, and instead call the real Carpenters and they even screw it at times, even though that being their full time job. So I feel, you have done a wonderful job, because this is not something that you do often. I won't even try :)
