A Ride in Life ̶ An Introduction Post My Journey of Thirty-Two Years , Going Through Life's Ebbs And Flows

Hello, Hivers! It’s great to be part of the community. Allow me to introduce myself. I am onboarded by @antonette we meet through fb and she share her knowledge about hive. This is such an exciting adventure.

Laguna, home to hot springs and the mythical creature “Maria Makiling”, was my birthplace .This is where I learned to open my eyes and behold my Mama’s face, took my first steps into life before me, listened to the birds chirping, and felt the gentle breeze that made the leaves dance. This place taught how scream and dream.

Mama decided I should learn academics at an early age, so she asked the daycare teacher if I can join as a “sit in”. Since I like going with my older cousin , Kuya Dharel, I agreed. The teacher was so kind to accept me. On my first day, I wouldn’t want Mama to leave, so she sat inside with me until I got used to the scenario. Kuya Dharel and I used to enjoy playing together along with our other cousins, but we were joined at the hip. Kuya and I usually like the same things and we have he same favorite- we have a thing for cakes. All the memories we shared are forever etched in my memory.I will always treasure them.

We moved to Negros Occidental when I was four years old . It is where my father has roots and the sock-like island in the Visayas region. Learning a new dialect is a bit challenging, but it’s great to be speaking something different from what you are used to ̶̶ another adventure has begun .But something happened. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that put me under the knife twice ̶̶ in 1997 and 2005 when it recurred.
It has shaped the trajectory of my life forever and it has always been a roller coaster. It opened my eyes into reality. It’s no longer about screaming and dreaming ,nor playing and singing, but it’s more on navigating and building my life around pain.

Transitioning from middle childhood to adolescence was a Tearful journey ̶̶ to say it was difficult was an understatement. I struggled with school, dealing with emotional and physical issues. But God’s hand was lifting me. I would say it was worth it. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2015. Fast forward to today , I’m enjoying the perks and challenges of being an ESL tutor, still learning how to traverse this journey in a hopeful expectation.
