I think open source models are good if you want to use your own AI, but I worry about how modern computing can't keep up with the performance of online ones. The price of hardware is only going up as the AI boom occurs.

The lie that we are being told is that AI needs the best chips and can only work with them. Google brought out a series of models that are 100% open source and can be stored and run on a modern phone!
Yes, but for how long? I think that the open source ones can work but with how fast the part prices are going up, I am not sure if it can handle them in the future.
