Beer Tasting: Coopers, Stone & Wood, Asahi, and Club

Hello, beer tasters! 🍻 😎 🍻

How are you?
The weekend is upon us, followed by Labour Day, so this #beersaturday will be a little different than usual. Quite a few beers in this week's game.

itec1.jpg

As you can see from the photo above, I have been treated to large quantities of a third of the world's most popular drinks.
Well, that's just the appearance, I didn't drink it all by myself. But I did participate :) 😁

As business trips started again, I found myself in London for a conference. Three days of intense work, but in the evening, when the work was over, parties. With beer, of course.
But I chose some I hadn't tried before. Absolutely multicultural :)

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Coopers Original Pale Ale

itec2.jpg

Brewed by Coopers Brewery, Regency Park, Australia.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV.

What do the master brewers say?

With its fruity character, and robust flavor, Coopers Pale Ale is perfect for
every occasion.
Naturally fermented in the 'Burton-on-Trent' style, a secondary fermentation
creates the trademark sediment that gives 'Pale' its fine cloudy appearance. This cloudy residue can be stirred through the beer by tipping or rolling the bottle before drinking.

Cool, that's my first Australian beer to taste.

itec3.jpg

The beer is golden yellow, the head is average, and disappears quickly.
It flows smoothly down the throat, with hop bitterness, hay, and citrus aromas, all of which quickly disappear in the aftertaste.

itec4.jpg

A refreshing (of course, the first beer of the day), standard Pale Ale.
So, acceptable, but without any particular excesses to make it a star.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Stone & Wood Pacific Ale

itec5.jpg

Brewed by Stone & Wood Brewing Co, Byron Bay, Australia.
Bottle 0.33 l, alcohol 4.4% ABV. Pale Ale style with all Australian ingredients.

What do the master brewers say?

We were inspired to brew this style of beer by the European village breweries whose ales were brewed and delivered fresh to be enjoyed in the pubs of the surrounding local area.
Brewed with local water from the Byron Bay hinterland, Australian grown barley, wheat, and hops, and carefully selected ale yeast we have crafted a beer with complex flavors and a clean bitter finish.

Another Australian. Cool, let's taste it.

Beer is yellow in color with a small head which doesn't last long. The first sip goes smoothly, first I taste the sweetness of the malt, only later the bitterness of the hops takes over, with a slight aroma of citrus and pineapple. This persists for a while in the aftertaste and slowly disappears.

itec6.jpg

A refreshing beer, this Pacific Ale. I could easily drink it all evening. It goes absolutely well with canapés of salmon. :) 😁
Tastier than the previous one. If it was available here it would even end up in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

Asahi Super Dry

itec7.jpg

Brewed by Asahi Group Holdings, Tokyo, Japan. Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5% ABV.
It's lager style beer.

What do the Master Brewers say about it?

Asahi Super Dry was a direct result of extensive market research which indicated a consumer preference for a more palatable beer with less maltiness, relatively high alcohol content and a light aftertaste. With this insight Asahi used its brewing knowledge to develop a beer with a crisp bite, refreshing taste, and clear finish to satisfy this requirement. Special Yeast - Asahi #318 is the proprietary ingredient used to give Super Dry its β€œdryness”.

That's not the first Japanese beer I tasted, it's the second I think.

itec8.jpg

The beer is light yellow color with a foam that disappears quickly. A sip goes down the throat quickly. Discreet hop bitterness, hay and malt aromas in the background, which quickly disappear in the aftertaste.
I find it a little watery, an ordinary industrial lager, nothing special.

Two Australian and a Japanese beer in London?
Yes, the company hosting this beer event is Australian.

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

But it's not over yet. My colleague and I slowly made our way back to the hotel. After an hour or so of changing every possible public transport, hunger sets in.
Well, let's go and get something to eat. We find an African restaurant nearby and go to try some African food. OK.

Maybe they have some African beer? Sure :) 😎 🍺

CLUB Premium Lager

itec9.jpg

Brewed by Accra Brewery, Accra, Ghana.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV. Lager style.

What do the master brewers say?

CLUB has been brewed with the same dedication to quality since 1931 and has been Ghana’s number one selling beer for most of that period.
Ingredients: Barley Malt, Maize, Hops, Water.

The first African beer I've tried.

itec10.jpg

The beer is clear yellow in colour, the head is average and disappears quickly. A sip goes down the throat smoothly.
A standard lager, hop bitterness at first, not too much stands out, malt sweetness, and a little citrus in the background.
In the aftertaste, it all disappears quickly.

itec11.jpg

A standard lager, nothing special, it won't stay in my memory.

The food was very tasty but I can't remember the exact name of the dish.
Spicy and slightly hot rice, stewed beef with vegetables, accompanied by a hard-boiled egg.

itec12.jpg

After all that, it's just time for bed. :)

🍻 😎 🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to as I write this? Something from my latest #newtunes post.
Exceptional garage rock that sounds like it comes from the early '60s.

Tha Retail Simps - Dozen a Dime

Wish you a nice Labour Day!

Stone and Wood is a one of the two or three beers that really launched craft beer in Australia into the mainstream so good to see you liked it.

Whoever is directly controlling the V2K told me to kill myself.
They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.

They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?
