Weekend Engagement - Does Size Matter?

image.png

Is there a part of your body you'd like to be bigger than it currently is? Explain what that part is and why you'd like to increase its size.

This week, I feel that I have to paste the prompt so that readers actually know the context of this post, hehe!

So, after giving much thought, I think I would like to have bigger (and longer) legs!

Coming in at a height of 1.66m, I think I am considered shorter than average even in Asia. With bigger and longer legs, I will be taller. If you were to check around the Internet, there are actually quite a lot of studies done and it seems that tall people have it better in their lives.

One study said tall people are generally considered more attractive than short people because there is this towering effect. I guess, when it comes to dating, some females also tend to look for taller males for potential partners because it gives them a better sense of protection, at least from a visual/physical standpoint. Aside for dating partners, taller (i.e. more attractive) people tend to be more likeable and they might have it slightly better than others when it comes to various aspects of life, be it job interviews or even asking for a favour from a stranger.

Related to the first point, another study mentioned that tall people on average earn more than short people. And they even go into the details on the increment earnings per extra unit of height. I won't go in depth on the statistics but this is not unexpected as it seems to follow the same logic from the earlier study.

The final study I came across encapsulates the whole issue so well. It said taller people are happier with their lives, which means they are less stressed, less likely to have mental health issues, and the list goes on. This actually means being tall is more than just a physical attribute, but it also has an effect on one's mental well-being.

Before I end off, I just want to say that over the years, I have accepted my body (which includes my height). But with such these studies and some anecdotal evidence from what I see in my life about tall people around me, I am just curious how different my life would be if I were to be 10 or 15cm taller. Maybe the studies are really accurate.. Or maybe there would not be any difference after all? I guess I will never know! :(

So that's all for my sharing this week! Hope you enjoyed my sharing and let me know if you agree/disagree with me! Thanks for reading and have a pleasant weekend ahead!

I love your boldness and sincerity for saying this out. But, I think that irrespective of one's height, he or she can enjoy life to the fullest with less stress. The only thing I know that streses short people is the intimidation they always receive from tall people. And I hate such
