HoloZing - Exciting Changes + Bought More ZING!

We are about 9 months into the claimdrop of ZING! How's everyone doing?

I usually do this update on a monthly basis but there has been some significant changes announced recently and I thought followers of the projects need to be aware. I will also be sharing what I have done in response to these latest set of news.

First up, the big news can be found here.

First major change: Staking rewards for ZING has increased by 100% from 20,000 ZING per day to 40,000 ZING per day

Second major change: HP delegation rewards for ZING has increased by close to 50% from 200,000 ZING per day to 299,000 ZING per day

As a result, the APR for Staking went up from 14% to 27% and the APR for HP Delegation went up from 10% to 17%!

Today

So what I have done in response to the news?

I bought 2,000 more ZING!

I see this development as something positive for the project, and since the price of ZING is so depressed at the moment, I thought there is probably more upside than downside at current levels so I added more ZING. With that, my current holdings of ZING have increased from 4,089 two weeks ago to 6,155 currently.

As for myself, I have separated my holdings in two separate slices.

Delegation

For the delegation slice, I have delegated 100 HP to @zingtoken all the way since the claimdrop started on 21 Oct. From HP delegation and staking ZING, I have obtained a total of about 2,149 ZING, of which, I have sold 1,200 ZING at around 0.0093 Hive on average. Hence, I am left with about 949 ZING.

So let's put them into a table and see how the figures look like.

On a base of 100 HP, that's about 14% ROI over about 9 months. If we were to annualise this figure, which isn't that meaningful (but purely for the purpose of generating an APR number), that's 19% APR.

Of course, the numbers will fluctuate wildly, especially with the steady increase in the HP delegation to @zingtoken.

Trading/Holding

For the trading slice, I have currently about 5,000+ ZING, with 3,000+ ZING staked to get the staking APR and 2,000 ZING currently in liquid for flexibility. With the averaging down at current levels, the cost of this trading slice came up about to about 48 Hive (from 42 Hive), and based on the last price, they are worth about 14 Hive (from 9 Hive).

What's next for me?

I think the crypto ecosystem, even in the Hive ecosystem, is very competitive. Lots of opportunities appear every now and then, and people often jump from one project to next, so the lack of updates has really hurt the price of ZING. Personally, I don't think it's much of a concern for me, I will still looking for opportunities to buy (low) and sell (high), and at the same time, keep some ZING for the eventual launch of the HoloZing game, whenever it will be.

The price of ZING is something that I would watch very closely. As for the game development, I have already done my favourites/follows so I will continue to read them as they come.

So back to the question of the post, is it time to buy or sell ZING? You have to decide for yourself. Haha!
