Croatia #9 - St. Michael's Castle - The Best Viewpoint in Sibenik

Hi Folks!

As the day continues we hiked up the hill over the Sibenik to see the St. Michael's Castle. I knew it is the best viewpoint over the whole town and nearby sea coast.

It was late already and we found that the Castle will be closed for visitors in 40 minutes.
My family decide that they will skip the entering the castle as it was too short time to see it all with a small child and the entrance fee was quite high. So in final - I was the only person from our "group" that entered to the top of the fortress.

I had enough time to record some material for my vlog about Croatia and to shoot the town from different angles and directions.

Sibenik from this point of view looked amazing!

It was like a concrete maze of similar houses, some old, some new, but all of them have red roofs which give the town unique and original look.

Just watch on the shots below - that is how most of the towns in Croatia looks like. I really like the idea of holding the same style. In Poland, every single house is different, painted on different, sometimes horrible colours, with different roof covers... and it looks awful in most cases.

Croatian cities have its style and looks great! Very photogenic.

Just before I had to leave the Castle the sky got some sunset colours. Some of the heavy clouds were lighted up from below and the rainfalls in a distance were nicely visible.

I really admired this view but still had a very little time to leave the place.

Here are a few shots I was able to capture before they closed the gates of the castle.
I was the last person leaving this interesting monument - worth visiting!
