When You Say Crypto, You Think Trading and Speculation? .:. MyHiveGoals 2024
Yesterday night, I watched a documentary about cryptocurrencies on Spanish national television! Whenever that would happen in the past, it would mean that we were at the top of the bull run, and from that moment, the bear run would start... In my opinion, this time is different as crypto, with Bitcoin ETF live, and Ethereum ETF on the way, is already in the mainstream and it is unstoppable... That means more crypto in the news and on the TV will become an ordinary thing...
To be honest, I was expecting a half-researched documentary with a negative approach toward crypto, but it wasn't like that... Did I like the documentary? Not too much... Did I learn something? Yes, I did! I learned what is written in the post's title and that saddened me... On the other side, I suppose that I had a similar approach when I got into crypto, but luckily, I "freed myself" and left that way of looking at it...

The concept of the documentary was that the main "actor" was a director of the movie, and the whole thing was more like a journal of how she wanted to create a movie about crypto... So, in a way, a movie wouldn't be made without those small clips from shooting... Anyway, she got hooked on crypto, or better said, on crypto trading, and was spending 99% of her time looking at her phone, buying and selling crypto... At this moment, I like to say that she was in crypto as much as Sam from FTX was in it, or Blackrock... They are/were not in crypto because of the concept and importance of it for the world, but rather for money, and to get more of those fiat, not crypto...
There is a huge difference in motives for why someone is in crypto... Okay, we can't deny and pretend that we don't like gains from it, but the most important question is... Are you here to get more fiat, or to stack more crypto for the long term? Anyway, 90% of the movie was talking about the "trading addiction" that she had, and with small titbits that would explain certain terms in crypto, like POW, HODL, Altcoins, etc.
Truth to be said the end of the documentary was the best part... Realizing that she made a mistake being obsessed with charts and trading, she discovered the "other side" of crypto... The side where crypto empowers women in Africa, where crypto saves lives in Venezuela and Argentina, protecting people from hyperinflation, the side where crypto isn't just a speculative asset, but the long-term solution for our "fiat disease"... The importance of HODLing crypto because it is a better asset and a solution for many problems, and not part of the problem...
Back to the #MyHiveGoals numbers... 2 weeks after the last report...

The #HivePUD event passed right before my last #MyHiveGoals report, so I can't use that in my bi-weekly numbers... 😃
That means, that the last 2 weeks' earnings are only from my regular daily power-ups, curation rewards, and author rewards from my posts... So, most of that is "organic earnings" as some people like to say... Compared to the report from 14 days ago, I have accumulated 630 HivePower, which is great! I didn't expect that much... If I would continue with that pace, it would mean over 1200 HivePower per month! Tbh, I don't know what happened in the last week or two, but I was motivated a lot for content creation and had more posts than usual!
The LEN token price went down a bit, as one big whale decided to empty his wallet, which I think happened yesterday... So, our LEN-GBTC-dumpage is finished! 😃 As that was a good moment to add some liquidity with cheap prices, I did that in both LEN pools... Regarding the SWAP.HIVE:LEN shares, I have added 65 shares and I'm very close to my monthly goal! It could happen in a week or so!
I mentioned last time that I'm focused on blending PRO cards in the Rising Star game, which means fewer funds available for card purchases from the market... But, that doesn't mean that I stopped buying packs and opening them... I"'m still doing that, at the moment, 72 packs per week!
The difference between 14 days and now is 463 cards, and I'm a bit less than 2000 cards far away from my yearly goal!!
These were my initial numbers and goals for 2024, created on January 7th, 2024...

I think the Trump announcement has also brought forward the adoption and mainstreaming of crypto. It is not seen as very niche or weird thing that might have been in the past.
Yeah, I suppose that's good... lol... Many intelligent people showed great vibes toward crypto, but nobody listened... We need an orange guy to say it... 😂

Ehen I say crypto, I think of self-control (abstaining from trading and overcoming the FOMO effect) and the year 2040 (time to retire) 🙂
That's a nice date (goal)... It could work out, but despite ignoring trading, moving our investment during cycles is sometimes a must... Some of the current tokens will not survive until 2040... Ear on the ground, and change horses during the time...
When you ride the lead horse, reaching the finish line is more likely...

It sounds like an interesting documentary and focusing on price does make you blind to the other stuff in crypto. It's new technology and each one focuses on different stuff.

I suppose that it's more about gambling and "betting" on crypto... And if you combine the "short term" of doing that, it's pure gambling and has nothing to do with crypto...
I basically think the trend will continue, everyday that passes, there'll be less hate for crypto. In the past when I mostly see shows about crypto out there. There's an 80% that it might be negative.
Oh, I would say that it was even worse in the past... I can't remember any positive crypto documentary/news on a TV (in Spain) that it was positive... That percentage was over 95% 😂
I have some bad feeling in my guts that it's time to have another black swan event, some exchange drama, or maybe some ETF doing dirty stuff... Not FUD, just gut feeling... and not for the long term... 😃
Indeed brother, I totally get what you’re saying about the shift from trading to seeing crypto’s bigger impact. It’s inspiring how it’s transforming lives in places like Africa and Venezuela. For me personally I'm seeing crypto as a chance to take fuller control over my finances rather than trading
