Summer time and everyone is on vacation... When you live abroad, your vacation is usually a family visit, and not going to the beach, or hiking a mountain, or enjoying the pool time... 🙂 This year, I will go to visit my family that lives in Serbia, and use the time spent there to check out some of my Hive friends who live there! Last year, I organized the first meetup in Serbia, and it's time to make it a "tradition" with setting up the second one!!!

The first one was a lot of fun, but a bit "overheated"... Not by heated discussion, but rather a very hot weather... The meetup took place in Novi Sad, and we were a small group of 4 Hivians, @mipiano, @ugochill, @bil.prag, and I... You can check out my recap post about it here...

This year, I'm travelling by plane, which means "reduced mobility" to move around the country... Because of that, and after a few talks with a few other Hivians, I have decided to create a meetup on my home ground, in my hometown, Apatin! It's not really in the middle of Serbia, but it is a nice, small town where I know every corner of it... Also, it is very close to the Hungarian and Croatian border, so if you are nearby, you are more than welcome to come!

THE PLAN for Tuesday, July 22nd, Apatin, Serbia!

Regarding organization, I had some "preliminary" talks with @mipiano, @bil.prag, and @duskobgd, as they will be among the core participants, which means that we are already at the same number as last year! Can we beat the record when YOU join us? 🙂

I didn't make any agenda for that day, but we will do something similar to last year... But, with an "adaptive schedule"... 😃

• If the weather is too hot, we will try to make a fort in some bar, cooling down with some local beer, wine, or some other cool drink... Btw, did I mention that the most famous Serbian (if not Yugoslavian) beer brewery is located in Apatin? The main street has great shade, so we can have lunch there too...

• If the weather is nice, we will take a walk by the river Danube where our official Hive photographer, @bil.prag, can take some fantastic, amazingly beautiful nature photos... Another option is to go hiking (not uphill 😂) through the woods and enjoy the shade of trees...

A simplified agenda would be something like this:

10:30 - 12:00 - HIVE Meetup Point, Nikola Tesla Square (or Trg Oslobodjenja), Apatin. Map details. It's easy to find, and you can see the statue of Nikola Tesla in the middle, sitting off the chair... 😀 We will have some drinks in the cafe on the square to refresh and get to know each other...

12:00 - 13:00 - Walk around the main street, cooling down with some local ice cream, and sightseeing... As Apatin is a small town, the center isn't that big, but it is well in the shade...

13:00 - 14:30 - Danube walk. If the weather isn't too hot, we can take a walk by the river, or through the forest... Also, if we decide, we can go by car, deeper into nature...

14:30 - 17:00 - Lunch time. The exact place where we will eat will be decided on the spot... Depending on the preferences of participants, we can pick a traditional fish restaurant, or anything else that we decide... Also, there is an option of preparing our own meal, in nature... (We can discuss that option 1-2 days before the meetup through DMs).

17:00 - ??? - Adventure time. You pick a destination, time, and everything that goes with that... Maybe visiting "Liberland village", or hanging out in the neighboring city, or...?

• If you can't make it to the meeting point, write down where and when you will come and I (or someone else) will come to pick you up...
• If you want, you can leave your Discord or Telegram address in the comment section for easier coordination before the meeting point...
• Bring with you a hat, sunglasses, and a bottle of water as the sun can be ruthless... 😎

If you can't make it to the meeting point, but you can make it during the afternoon, you are more than welcome to join us...
