The first season with the new reward system is about to end and the expectation and excitement of the Season Chest is felt in the atmosphere, I'm sure many players decided to move up to higher leagues for better rewards and after that they ran into an incredible competition that they had hardly faced before when the previous system was active, well if you are one of those don't worry. In this post I'm going to present you a complete guide for the Focus of Fire in Gold rank, I hope you find it useful, welcome all!

Don't be afraid of rentals!

I have always had the belief that this game is not to be thinking in short term, I say this because it happens a lot that players are very afraid to spend 1000+ DEC renting good cards for their being competitive on their leagues for fear of not paying back in chests, and this is a mistake, always calculate your budget against forward thinking, for example:

  • A regular Pelacor Bandit bcx cost about 20 cents when its issue was less than 5%, right now it is worth only 1 cent.... If you calculate your possible income taking the average value of that Pelacor at 1 cent you are doing it wrong, because you are going to average little or nothing, you are going to rent very few cards looking to profit from the DEC you spent and that is going to translate into a lot of lost games, which in turn means very few chests.

I'm not saying that you should spend all your life savings renting cards, but that you should be consistent with what you rent. I base it on the average value of a Gold Chest which is $0.166 and as I average about 18 chests in my focus, then I rent a value equal to or less than $2.98, which right now is about 3,674.47 DEC. With the current market prices it is impossible for you to spend that amount of DEC in rentals for 1 day, unless you rent all the cards available in your Splinter...

I have rented a very competitive deck for Gold for 1,812.337 DEC/day

Invocadores:

image.png

Summoners:

image.png

These two Summoners are more than enough to be very competitive with this Splinter, since magic is not Fuego's forte and there are no summoners that benefit magic, it is best to think of it as a support and nothing else, the opposite of what would happen with Earth and Obsidian for example.

The idea is that Tarsa covers what Yodin cannot cover, and the same with Yodin who is there to do what Tarsa cannot.

  • Tarsa: in those battles of medium to low Mana (30-) and also very low, like 13 mana, is where Tarsa performs best, also those battles that focus on only Melee or where monsters with this attack are more important, Tarsa takes advantage of Zaku for costing less mana, also has 2 very important bonuses, cards like Serpentine Spy or Tenyii Striker benefit too much from Tarsa, they are boosted to a much higher level than they would do with Zaku, for example.

  • Yodin Zaku for all the high mana battles (30+) is very very good, it costs a lot of mana points, so it is important to know when to use it and when not, but the bonuses it has are incredible, a single round can be enough for a good team armed with Zaku to sweep an entire enemy lineup, Because of its Ranged attack bonus it is best to have in your collection cards that have this type of attack, special mention to Lava Launcher and Molten Ash Golem, two of the cards that work best with Yodin, but be careful, a rookie mistake is to use Yodin with a full Ranged lineup and that is a mistake, combine your cards, be creative.

In total I have rented 57 different cards (Rusty Android and Hobgoblin are there just for Colection Power, by the way), you can see all of them above, Molten Ogre is there twice because after renting the regular one I found a Gold Foil one at an incredible price and I rented again. It is very true that there are several cards there, many in fact, that I could have easily not rented to save DEC, but there are certain Rulesets that appear just when you are least expecting them to ruin a game or even worse, a good winning streak. That's why I think it's important to be very well prepared for those cases and of course, try to rent all the golden cards you can, the RP and SP bonus they give you is huge, below I leave some examples.

The cards that I think are indispensable for this Focus are the two summoners, clearly, Living Lava, Goblin Shaman, Serpentine Spy, Tenyii Striker, Antoid Platoon, Elven Cutthroat, Horny Toad, Scavo Hireling, Tusk the Wide and Grum Flameblade.

¿Como jugar? Analisis de mis partidas.

27 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Lost Legendaries
29 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Close Range
99 mana, Fog of War + Broken Arrows
26 mana, Reverse Speed + Up, Close & Personal
19 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Odd Ones
42 mana, Back to Basics + Up, Close & Personal
29 mana, Reverse Speed + Noxius Fumes
60 mana, Super Sneak + Noxius Fumes
36 mana, Silenced Summoner + Explosive Weaponry
12 mana, Equalizer + Lost Legendaries
40 mana, Weak Magic + Explosive Weaponry
27 mana, Target Practice
48 mana, silenced summoner + Melee Mayhem
30 mana, Unprotected + Heavy Hitters
15 mana, Standard
15 Mana, silenced summoners
29 mana, Equal Opportunity + Rise of the Commons
15 mana, Stampede
12 mana, Target Practice + Reverse Speed
26 mana, Fog of War

How to play? Analysis of my games.

27 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Lost Legendaries
29 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Close Range
99 mana, Fog of War + Broken Arrows
26 mana, Reverse Speed + Up, Close & Personal
19 mana, Explosive Weaponry + Odd Ones
42 mana, Back to Basics + Up, Close & Personal
29 mana, Reverse Speed + Noxius Fumes
60 mana, Super Sneak + Noxius Fumes
36 mana, Silenced Summoner + Explosive Weaponry
12 mana, Equalizer + Lost Legendaries
40 mana, Weak Magic + Explosive Weaponry
27 mana, Target Practice
48 mana, Silenced Summoner + Melee Mayhem
30 mana, Unprotected + Heavy Hitters
15 mana, Standard
15 mana, silenced summoners
29 mana, Equal Opportunity + Rise of the Commons
15 mana, Stampede
12 mana, Target Practice + Reverse Speed
26 mana, Fog of War

A mana cap average of 32 points per game and some rulesets that in many cases played against me, like that 99 points battle that banned me cards with Ranged, leaving me without chances to build the best possible lineup with Zaku, then I have to improvise, in total these 20 games ended in 13 wins and 7 losses, without draws, for a total of 41625 RP (11 chests) until the time of taking the data for my post. If the average is met with my chests so far, I would earn 1,826$ which is already more than I spent on rentals, and I intend to keep playing more and more this day.

Specific Battles.

Against Magic.

Against magic is where it can be more difficult to play with gold (or was, since Chaos Legion arrived), there are cards that are made specifically to play against magic, like Grum Flameblade or Tusk the Wide but there is another card that is excellent for these battles and that is not named much, Legionaire Alvar.

image.png

Watch the battle

In this other battle you can see how spectacular is Legionaire Alvar to face magical alignments, here against the dreaded Flame + Kron he came out victorious without any danger.

Full Melee

The Melee attack is where there is more variety of cards for this Splinter, the options are really infinite, surpassed only by Splinter Dragon and for obvious reasons, here there are no cards that stand out above the others (maybe Serpentine Spy?) but depending on the ruleset and mana, there are options in all sizes and colors.

image.png

Watch the battle

In this specific battle I decided to go Full Melee with Zaku for the Super Sneak, which is a ruleset that benefits Melee cards a lot, this lineup has a potential damage per turn of 27 points counting the Blast damage of Yodin Zaku... Insane!

Full Ranged.

Getting the most and best out of Yodin Zaku on your lineup means aligning several good cards with Ranged attack, the Mana and shield of my Ant Miner is perfect for these battles because it counteracts the fact that I use Zaku (7 mana) in a low mana battle, the combination of abilities of my cards makes my Ant Miner as good or better than his Living Lava, when by themselves these cards have a great difference between each other. That is why it is important to know when to place the cards.

Debilidades.

  • Keep Your Distance + mana bajo.

Watch the battle

Weaknesses.

I think there is a specific ruleset that does a lot of damage to this Splinter:

  • Earthquake: this ruleset is really bad first because there are very few cards with the Fly ability in this element (barely 5) and second because most strong Fire cards are Melee attack, which means that they will miss quite a few attacks against enemy monsters that do have Fly.... My recommendation for this case is to add a Tower Griffin in your team, which at level 5 has Protect and will give you some support in this ruleset, and of course the already known, as cards that have Heal or abilities that recover vitality or Armor.

  • Keep Your Distance + low mana.

This combination is deadly for this Splinter, because Tarsa will become useless and Zaku has very high mana, you will have to improvise very well in this kind of battles to avoid losing, Goblin Shaman, Lord of Fire, Flame Imp and Venari Heatsmith are examples of cards that can save you in these situations.
