Slay The Dragon - Design Art Work (CYOA Entry)
This is my first CYOA entry for the ongoing Leofinance zealy artist quest and I'm both excited and nervous about this stage because it is more about me trying out something new to know if it's my thing or not. I'm hoping to do some sketching with pencil for the other art quests but I'm not so sure how successful that would be. For now, I decided to do some Canva designing for the rookie stage.
Display a Lion fighting (and winning) a Dragon, my design is aimed to slay a dragon as shown in this image here 👇
But the process to how I came to that is what I'll share, I hope my novice design is encouraged for improvements which I'll love to get. I wasn't the worse artist back in the years but I think negligence has made it look like a huge feat I have to over come to get some arts showing off as mine. Okay, to not digress, here is the process.
I choose to use Canva as I'm more used to it and I'm still trying to get my way around bringing out the artist in me haha. So here is a plain page I chose with custom 200 x 200 for the size I wanted.
The next thing I did was find a fitting dragon image from the options given to me on Canva elements. There were a lot of them but I chose the one I used because of the appearance... The Dragon seem intimidating and super ready to fight, anyone would think he'd fight hard at the Lion but he definitely do not know what's coming for him.
I also add the image of a Lion who is obviously unafraid of anything and ready to slay the dragon no matter how intimidating it tried to look. Lions are fearless, a tiny (even though big animal) looking Dragon can't make the Lion any less of it's powers. I created a distance between them to show that they are both ready to fight.
And I brought the two closer to show an actual fight, doesn't look real but my imagination went wild at this point as I imagined the Lion slaying the dragon so easily with no flaws and the dragon realizing late to have stayed out of the fight. So yeah, the Lion slayed the dragon and it fell to the ground with a big sound of defeat.
A Lion would roar out of pride after such a defeat so I thought of showing that in a design as well. The Lion roars, the dragon slain on the ground... The Pride is safe as it should be.
