The gloomy weather made me choose a gloomy beer… A biscuit fudge stout is on target today.

Well, well… The spring weather is not what it was supposed to be and although temperatures around 15-20 celsius are expected in the month of May, now we are witnessing a 5-10 degrees cooler days and nights. It’s been raining most of the time during the last 30 days and this cannot be more depressing… After all we are going on a seaside vacation after a little bit more than a month and some good weather is what we need.

Having in mind this gloomy weather I picked a beer more suitable for the cold weather. What about a biscuit stout? Or more specifically A Biscuit Fudge Stout, whatever this means. And… the name of the beer is SINISTER AND SWEET! Do you think that this little biscuit girl is that sweet? Oh… Maybe they meant the beer, which has lactose added which should really make it sweeter.

The beer, quite expectedly is pitch black and the carbonation is on the low side. It develops a tiny amount of head which is relatively long lasting. In the nose I catch a lot of coffee and dark chocolate notes, black malts really rock! I cannot wait to taste this little sweety!

I forgot to mention that the beer is brewed by the guys who made the previous two beers I posted about and the labeling is quite sketchy and picturesque. Somebody may plot a horror movie out of this image. This girl definitely likes biscuits more than dolls… This definitely looks a bit creepy!

The taste? Definitely a well rounded and balanced sweet stout. The biscuits give the beer a special dessert touch that can be enjoyed after a tasty beef steak. The aftertaste is quite creamy and the low carb levels definitely help to make this beer more enjoyable.

Some people may not like the additional sweetness that much, but I am a big fan of it. Definitely not my everyday beer though. I can enjoy one once a week, but not more often because it is quite heavy and full bodied.

The price is about $3, definitely a little underpriced for all the qualities in embodies. I am sincerely very pleasantly surprised by the products the Metalhead boys make and think that they definitely upgraded their products’ quality. A big respect for them!

Well this marks my post for today. Wish you a happy and prosperous new week.
Cheers and see you soon!

I'm not really sure how sweet the doll looks, but I love the art, very on the dark side.

This style of stout always makes me think that they are the perfect dessert many times, but with how heavy they are I think it is more convenient to drink them without eating much before.

The flavors and sensations you describe seem great for the price it has, honestly in Spain these are usually a little more than double.

Keep enjoying it, cheers!

I am not a huge fan of over sweetness, so I would prefer that beer as a dessert too. Combined with something sweet it would definitely be too much…

I know that these beers will cost a lot more abroad and I am extremely thankful to live in Bulgaria where some pretty awesome breweries exist and sell beers at extremely reasonable prices.

Thanks for stopping by!
