Realm play-2-earn Game - Day 76 in Season 10 - Trying to win equipment in team domination

I'm continuing to really love playing the game realm, which is a world strategy/builder type play-2-earn game on the wax blockchain.

Its day 76 in Season 10 of Realm. There are only 9 days left to the end of season 10. I've dropped some places as expected to rank 67 (from 62 at the last update 2 weeks ago). The game play really hots up towards season end as people really start playing in order to get better prizes, and hence I did expect to drop a few places. My aim is to stay within the top 75 in order to get better end of season rewards, and I feel like I should be able to do that as long as I keep on grinding missions.

The table above shows my progress to date (inside the red box), with my stats as of today (yellow area), compared to my stats on previous updates (white lines) and then the change since that last update (green boxes).

I've also listed my global rank (I hadnt really noticed it before). I'm currently 277, and the top 10% go into gold league (which is around the top 300). So it looks like I'm gold league bound for next season at this rate. I'm not sure how I feel about that as I'm probably not going to get within the top 100 in the gold league - I just dont have the NFTs to do that, and so my rewards are likely to be down next season. You only get proper rewards when you are within the top 100. I can do that in silver and bronze, but I doubt I'll manage it in gold.

I could simply decide to play less to the end of the season and drop below 300, but I'm not going to do that. I'm going to keep on trying and just see how it goes.

This weekend it was the team domination event. I normally do participate, but this weekend I decided to go all out for it to see how far I could get. If I could get to goal level 15, then I'd get a free piece of equipment as a prize, and if I could get in the top 100, then I'd also get another free piece of equipment from that too.

Well it didnt happen ! I did try, and just couldnt get there. I completed goal 12 (just), so was quite a bit short of hitting level 15. I also only got to rank 237, so was nowhere near the top 100 - LOL !

Well you never know unless you try ! So now I know. My main shortfall was resources. I simply couldnt generate enough to keep churning out the helpers enough. I did change my leader setup (as per above) and it wasnt enough.

I dropped in my 1 and 2 star professionals which give a training speed bonus. I also put in my 1 and 2 star economists which reduce the resource cost of training. And lastly I put in my 2 star pacifist which increases team size. As can be seen, my leaders just aint strong enough at 1 and 2 star. Plus I dont yet have enough equipment to make a big different. However, its getting better season by season.

I've continued to track my season rewards, and got another 1 star leader (a scientist) this morning, after getting another common treasure token from ships (I already had one in hand and used them both, and blended to get a random 1 star leader, which needs tow common treasure tokens).

I'm actually quite surprised how well its gone so far this season. And I'll still have the end of season rewards to add, and also any additional RLM that I've managed to stake while playing the game. So its going to get close-ish to the 100 HIVE mark in value by the end of the season - which is pretty good for a game that I simply enjoy playing.

With 9 days left, its just time to focus on missions now until the end, and grind as many as I can in order to stay in the top 75. As per the pic above, if I can stay in the top 75 I'll get a 3 star explorer, a piece of rare equipment, a green (common) treasure token and then my share of the RLM prize pool (which currently stands at 9253 RLM). I'll be pretty happy with that.

Anyway, that wraps up my update for this week. Heres looking forward to the end of season, and then preparing for the next one. I wonder what changes they will bring in for season 11 - nothing has been listed so far, although I did make up a white lie and droped it into chat on REALM discord today just for fun:

'I've heard that one of the new features is leader pairing. You can pair a male and female 5 star or above leader, and they sit out of the game for 6 weeks. But when they come back, you also have a 1 star leader (their baby) ! How cool is that !'

Wouldnt that be fun ! Nobody responded to my comment - LOL !
