A quick trip to the pub with my Dad for a few pints
My Dad has been visiting us this last week, and we made it out to the pub for a few quick pints, which was nice !
We made it out to the Roseburn bar, which is one of our local pubs, which serves some great beer and has a lovely atmosphere. The only problem being that I forgot to take a pic of our full pints !
My Dad had Tennets Lager, which is one of the most popular lager brands in Scotland. To be honest, I dont like it - I find it has an odd sort of metallic aftertaste, so its not for me. Although the glass was nice.
He also had an Estrella Damm, which is a Spanish lager - I prefer it to Tennants.
I had a McEwan's 70 shilling. Its a nice flat beer. Its quite creamy with a caramelly type taste. McEwan's is probably my fav Scottish Beer brand. It used to be very popular back in the 90s and earlier, but I find it harder to find these days. It used to be brewed here in Edinburgh, but I'm not entirely sure where they have moved to now. But I'[m quite delighted that my local pub stocks McEwan - they have atleast 3 of their beers on tap - 60, 70 and 80 shilling. 60 is basically an IPA, the lightest of the 3, and 80 is a heavy - quite dark. So I like the one in the middle - the 70 !
Well, it was a nice impromptu visit to the pub. It was nice to spend some time with my Dad to enjoy a pint !
You can't be a few pints in the pub.
Aye - it was very relaxing !
