Rising: Revengeance was plagued by delays and studio changes. This is usually synonymous with an uneven and poor quality finished product. But that is not the case. Platinum Games came to the rescue and created a world faithful to Metal Gear. It lacks the most important details (story codec, charismatic enemies...), but uses a completely different development. As the protagonist Katana, the focus is on the action, very simply.

The "tactical espionage" tagline that was the hallmark of the series at the time of the game's release was replaced by a new concept called "Blitz Action", a clear statement that pushed the series towards more action. , as Bayonetta or Vanquish demonstrate, are the experts at PlatinumGames... but don't rush.

Fighting these enemies is arguably the best part of the game in terms of focus and pacing due to their variety. They all also have quick events, camera settings, and their own mechanics, but beating them always depends too much on one element of the game: blocking. Blocking attacks is a skill that can be learned almost from the first moments of the game, and once you master this skill, you will have no problem parrying attacks.

There is also a small "but": difficulties. Compared to the Japanese version, the European version is a downgrade and, apart from one or two very specific moments, completing the adventure at a normal level is quite easy. Fortunately for those looking for something similar to the original Ninja Gaiden, there are challenging levels and an even more challenging bonus level, Revenge.
