FungiFriday - shades of red

avatar

orange mushrooms pl 6.jpg

This fall I have probably seen every possible colour on the mushrooms. From white, though shades of yellow, red, pink, purple, green, brown... no black ones unless dead rotten ink caps count :)

Here are some red ones I found in one forest, but in different parts of it.

The first orange one was in a more sunny spot, surrounded by multiple bushes. I have no idea what it is, but I could see it from afar. Shiny, bright hat with a spot of sun on it. I could not miss it!

A different one that was growing not far from the orange one. This one is obviously a delicious one. I saw many of this type, and most were munched to some degree.

And in a different, less leafy parts of the woods I found these guys.

The ground is covered in pines and pinecones there and they seem to like it a lot. No wet leaves stuck on their pretty hats.

Are these Russula?

Bonus shot: the colours of the leaves are just so stunning that I could not resist taking dozens of photos. I don't know the name of the bush, but it is very common around the forest. The leaves change from light green to yellow, red, and darker pinkish shades. Most with some damage and holes bitten out by hungry buggers. This is just one of them.
I just love it!

Hello dear friend @ewkaw good afternoon
How great that you live in an area where you have the opportunity to see mushrooms of different colors.
There are so many that you have had the opportunity to see two different species in one shot. These red mushrooms are really very pretty
Thank you very much for sharing these beautiful photographs, have a great weekend

A nice walk and beautiful photos. Even though it has red spots, it is really beautiful. A beautiful color that will attract insects. I can't get too angry at insects. 🤗

I am not angry at they at all. They are very much needed and need to eat too :)
Thank you!

This is very interesting, the colours are very eye catching and I just couldn't help looking in. I don't know if they are edible but if they are, I wouldn't mind munching away like those buggers. Thanks for sharing.

I don't know if they are edible. I wouldn't dare trying :p

How many shades of red? 😂

Ow, you have some really nice guys here, and even a tiny neighbour. 😍

Hungry buggers, but they also have to eat something :D

Mmmh, the skin of the second one is... almost tasty ! Looks terribly soft, but not as much as your pictures ^^ Those looks really like Russula, but I'm far from being an expert !

Thanks for those fugi beauties :))

Wow - how do you find them? You are really a mushroom spotter. Gorgeous colour. Nice that you are seemingly surrounded by them in your neck of the woods. Nice photos as always.

Beautiful red colour. How come we don’t ever see red mushrooms around this area! Only brown ones.

Maybe you should look in a different place? I am sure you have other colours too.

That is interesting that they grow right in the pine needles. Not many plants seem to like to live there.

They seem to like it. I saw other types growing like that too. Not many bushes around so it is mainly pines, some small sticks and moss here and there.

Seems there are different types of this mushroom, or are they all the same??

No, not all the same. Two types I think.

The colors of the mushrooms are wonderful. I heard that such colorful mushrooms are poisonous. 🍄

With a little neighbour.

The mushroom with the little hat looks very nice. Thanks for sharing. 🌸
