I personally find it very relaxing and the truth is that I enjoy every time there is Luminescence naturally. When I find creatures like caterpillars that are phosphorescent on their own, I find it amazing because this is a way that they alert that they are dangerous, they alert their predators in this way, producing this type of Luminescence.

We can also see this in certain jellyfish that have this Luminescence ability and it is for the same reason: to alert their predators, or those who want to hunt them, that they are dangerous and toxic.

So Luminescence is a very amazing word that holds many mysteries and is very attractive.

Según el diccionario de la Real Academia Española, la palabra Luminiscencia viene del inglés Luminiscence y este de Luminicent, lo que es Luminicente y Ence, encía, es primeramente un significado femenino que se define como la propiedad que tienen algunos cuerpos de emitir luz sin elevar la temperatura y en segundo también hace referencia a la luz emitida por Luminiscencia, o sea que es una luz emitida por esta capacidad y también es la propiedad que tienen algunos cuerpos de emitir luz.

Esta capacidad la tienen algunos materiales como pinturas de grado militar y algunos seres vivos también, algunos insectos como las luciérnagas que emiten este tipo de radiación, que se ve muy bonita y del cual podemos ver una representación en la imagen que encabeza esta publicación.

La verdad la Luminiscencia es una palabra que ha sido muy misteriosa, y que ha llamado la atención desde tiempos ancestrales, porque las culturas antiguas veían a la Luminiscencia como algo mágico, los chamanes siempre entendían esto de la Luminiscencia como algo que les llevaba a la otra vida, y era asociado a ovnis y a objetos paranormales, a seres de otro mundo que venían a darnos un mensaje.

De hecho, culturalmente, en muchas religiones se habla de ángeles que tienen esta Luminiscencia y es asociado a seres de luz, a todo lo que es puro, lo que hace la Luminiscencia un fenómeno que cautiva a toda la humanidad. Además, en nuestro mundo actual la Luminiscencia tiene muchos usos, por ejemplo se utiliza para demarcar rayas en la carretera para que los conductores mientras van manejando de noche no se salgan de su carril, y puedan ver que están conservando el camino correcto dentro de las carreteras.

También se emplea para delimitar o marcar zonas peligrosas, zonas donde hay barrancos, por lo cual se colocan bardas que son luminiscentes y tienen esta propiedad para evitar accidentes. Asimismo se crean o se fabrican chalecos con este tipo de Luminiscencia, que las fuerzas de la ley o las autoridades usan para hacerse resaltar de noche y de esta manera se identifican.

Además de que es un fenómeno muy bonito, ir a cualquier bosque de noche y encontrarse con estas luciérnagas, da un aspecto muy mágico y muy misterioso, la Luminiscencia.

A mí personalmente me parece algo muy relajante y la verdad que disfruto cada vez que hay Luminiscencia de manera natural. Cuando encuentro criaturas como orugas que son fosforescentes por si solas, me parece asombroso porque esta es una manera que tienen ellas, de alertar de que son peligrosas, alertan a sus depredadores de esta manera, produciendo este tipo de Luminiscencia.

También podemos ver esto en ciertas medusas que tienen esta capacidad de Luminiscencia y es por el mismo motivo: para alertar a sus depredadores, o a quienes quieran cazarlas, de que son peligrosas y que son tóxicas.

Entonces la Luminiscencia es una palabra muy asombrosa que encierra a muchos misterios y es muy atractiva.
