Dual Benefit IPO

After a long time I have got a good dual allotment in the IPO. Usually for every IPO, I use 2 applications one from mine and other from my wife's. And most of the time we don't get any allotment. Sometimes I get 1 allotment out of two, which is around 10% of time or even less.

But today I have got 1 out of 2 applications in both Bansal Wires and Emcure Pharma. That means I have got 2 IPOs in 4 applications. The GMP of both of them were good i.e. around 30 to 35%. Today both the Stock have been listed. Mostly my strategy used to be to to get the listing gain and come out. That's what I have done with Bansal Wires, I have got 40% listing gain and I have sold all my holdings with 40% gain.

For Emcure, the company is good as well as the pharma will be one of the good future probable. So I have sold 10 shares out of 14 to take my investment out. The remaining 4 shares, I have kept which is basically a free shares. If it gives good returns in the future then I will get some, if it gives negative returns, then also for me doesn't matter as these 4 shares are free shares for me. So overall it was a great day as I have got 40% returns in one IPO and got 4 free shares for one IPO.

If I would have sold the Emcure Pharma, that would also have given me 35% returns. So these IPOs are mainly listed as per the GMP. Though the market today fell down little bit and I have sold some of my ETFs as per ETF shop. But even in the dull market these stocks have given stellar returns.

Till now I have been mainly applying though the retail applications, so the amount is close to 15k. Getting 30 to 40% on 15K is not much but it is good money. And next I am thinking of applying in sHNI or Small High Net Individual category where you can apply for Rs 2 Lakh and thus 40% of that is actually a good sum. Getting 2 Lakh is now needed in the bank account for applying the IPO. So might br from next year I might apply one lot in sHNI.
